Efficiently packing and organizing your storage can help you maximize space, protect your belongings, and make it easier to access when needed. Here are some tips for packing your storage space:

  • Use uniform boxes: Use sturdy, uniformly sized boxes for easy stacking and organization. Avoid overpacking the boxes to prevent them from becoming too heavy.
  • Label everything: Use clear labels on each box to indicate its contents, and consider creating an inventory list. This will make it easier to locate specific items later.
  • Create aisles: Leave aisles between boxes and furniture to create paths that allow easy access to items at the back of the storage unit.
  • Dismantle furniture: When possible, dismantle large furniture to save space. Store screws and hardware in labeled bags and secure to the furniture.
  • Protect fragile items: Use bubble wrap, packing paper, and furniture covers to protect fragile items. Place these items on top of the stack.
  • Elevate items: Place furniture and other items on pallets or wooden boards to protect them from moisture and improve air circulation.
  • Heavier items on the bottom: Place heavier items and boxes on the bottom of the stacks to avoid crushing lighter items.
  • Leave space for ventilation: If your storage unit is not air conditioned, leave a small space between items and walls to allow air to circulate.
  • Cover your furniture: Use covers or blankets to protect your furniture from dust and scratches.
  • Protect valuables: You can keep valuables, important documents and irreplaceable items in a safe and easily accessible place inside the storage room.
  • Maximize vertical space: Take advantage of the vertical space in your storage area by stacking boxes and items vertically. Use shelving to increase usable space.
  • Place frequently accessed items in the foreground: If you expect to need to access certain items often, place them at the front of the storage area for easy retrieval.
  • Using furniture as storage: Consider using furniture with storage capabilities, such as bookcases or wardrobes, to maximize space efficiency.

Remember that how you pack your storage unit affects your ability to access and organize your items efficiently. Taking the time to pack carefully can save you time and stress when retrieving items from storage.

Access to storage is generally controlled by the facility's policies and security measures. Here's what you need to know about who can access your storage:

  • You: As the primary tenant of the space, you have full access to the space during the hours the facility is in operation. Be sure to keep your access code or key safe.
  • Authorized Users: If you want to grant access to other people, such as family members, friends, or employees, you can do so by providing their names to the vault and registering them as authorized users.
  • Facility Staff: Facility staff members, including management and security personnel, may have access to storage facilities for maintenance, security checks, and emergency situations.
  • No unauthorized access: Unauthorized persons should not have access to the storage facility. Facility security measures, such as access codes, locks, and surveillance cameras, help prevent unauthorized entry.
  • Guest Access: Some properties offer guest access options, which allow you to temporarily grant access to specific people for a limited period of time.

It is essential to review the access rules of the storage facility you choose and ensure that your belongings are adequately protected.

Moving your items to storage can be simple with proper planning and organization.

  • Choosing storage: First, choose the right storage based on the items you plan to store. Measure your items to make sure they fit comfortably.
  • Gather packing materials: Gather boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, furniture covers, and other necessary packing materials.
  • Pack methodically: Pack items in boxes, clearly labeling the contents and marking fragile items as such. If possible, disassemble large furniture to save space.
  • Protect fragile items: Use suitable packaging materials to protect fragile or delicate items. Bubble wrap, foam and packing paper are useful for this purpose – available for purchase at our receptions.
  • Loading a truck or vehicle: If you have a significant amount of items, consider renting a moving truck or van. Load items securely, placing heavy items at the bottom and fragile items at the top. EasyBox can recommend a certified partner.
  • Unloading and Organizing: Once you arrive at the storage center, carefully unload your items into the storage space. Place the heaviest items at the bottom and the lightest items at the top. Create a clear path to access your items.
  • Use shelving: To maximize space and accessibility, consider installing shelving within your unit. Ask store managers about available options.

By bank transfer or credit card depending on the payment method used for the payment.

It depends on the customer’s needs. There are three elements required to allow us to prepare a correct and accurate quotation: the size of the unit needed, the length of stay, and the location of the unit within our branch.

Contact our store managers, they will know how to help you.

The cost of self-storage varies based on several factors, including location, storage size, and storage facility features. Here are some considerations to help you determine if self-storage is right for you:

  • Location: Storage prices tend to be higher in densely populated or urban areas. Consider whether it's more cost effective to choose a facility a little further away.
  • Space Size: Smaller units are generally more affordable than larger ones. Choose a storage unit that is the right size for your needs to avoid overpaying for unused space.
  • Features: Some properties offer additional features such as climate control, late night access, security features, and on-site management. While these features can add to the cost, they can be worth it for the added convenience and peace of mind.
  • Length: Many properties offer discounts for long-term rentals or for paying several months in advance. Consider your storage needs and budget when deciding on the length of your rental. It doesn’t hurt to ask!
  • Systematic research: Search and compare prices at different storage centers in your area. Look for promotions or special offers that could save you money.

Ultimately, the suitability of self-storage depends on your specific needs, budget, and location. It’s important to do your research, compare prices, and choose a facility that offers the right balance of cost and features for your situation.
